In 2003 the North Carolina Wildlife Habitat Foundation joined hands with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, Ducks Unlimited, and several other organizations to restore Willow Pond, a public waterfowl viewing site and resting area, which is part of the National Park Service, located at the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum, Harkers Island. A tour of the museum is an exceptional educational experience. They have more than 27,000 visitors annually. For more information, see www.coresound.com or call (336) 375-4994.
