The NCWHF created the Adopt-an-Acre program in 2003 for the purpose of providing additional funding to purchase land to be added to the North Carolina Game Land program.
This program has the added attraction of being able to provide a three-for-one matching grant for contributions received from the general public, conservation organizations, and corporate donors.
As an example, every one hundred dollars received for the program will make four hundred dollars available for land acquisition. This means that the general public can protect more wildlife land for the benefit of future generations for only twenty-five cents on the dollar.
NCWHF has already provided funding to acquire tracts in Caswell, Bladen, Richmond, and Halifax counties. We plan to do more and we welcome your gifts earmarked for this program.
Gifts we have received range from one dollar up and we can assure you that no gift is too small to make a difference.
